Martin and Co,
As of today gas prices are at levels of a year ago!Why isn’t the price comparison websites including this one! urging us to fix at lower rates than the cap?Like the Banks, the energy companies are quick to put the prices/rates up and very slow to bring them down.

If your energy supplier could buy all your gas for the year today and store it until you needed it - you'd be set; but that's not how it works.
Look at the prices for this winter and the next year. That's what suppliers have to use when building a fixed tariff for a year - and those prices are significantly higher than last year still.
Today's price is only relevant if you're on Octopus Agile or a Tracker.4 -
Which gas price? Which market and which location? For delivery today? tomorrow? January? How much volume can you buy at that price and where are you going to put it until you need it?Deleted_User said:Martin and Co,

And what fix would you like the comparison websites to be urging you to accept?3 -
Where did you find offers cheaper than the cap? Can you please share?2

I'm sure if you post a fix that is better than the cap they will do so...Deleted_User said:Why isn’t the price comparison websites including this one! urging us to fix at lower rates than the cap?0 -
You mean a year ago when energy suppliers were going bust one after the other because they were losing too much money, those gas price levels?Deleted_User said:Martin and Co,
