    Thanks everyone. Reluctantly, we have decided not to proceed with our reservation. 

    It is a shame because we loved the house and the garden.

    Tell them to come back to you instead with the original price but an adopted road, or a written pledge (backed by insurance) that they will maintain the road/verges etc. for the next 100 years or until adoption
