Wishing you luck - as you know there's lots of help and support here.

you might find that in due course, as you come to terms with your debt and have clear, sustainable plans in place to pay it off that you will feel ready to tell your OH.

Thank you Blackcats, yes I think you're right. I just need to get ny head around things and make a positive start on my plans. My husband is a wonderful man and would be very understanding and would most likely want to help me. Thank you for understanding where I am right now.

  • Latest update!

I have done a balance transfer to a new M@S card today which is 0% for 32 months and cost me just £30 in fees to do so.

This has "cleared" one card (I believe... I have a note to call the provider on Monday to check this for sure once the payments and the BT has cleared) it has also taken a huge chunk off of my V!rg!n card.

I am hoping for a 0% balance transfer offer soon on the card (I believe) I ve just cleared, to move the rest from my V!rg!n balance across to. I'll then be fully on 0% interest. 😅

Now I am sat writing my meal plan and shopping list for the supermarket shop tomorrow. I have a voucher for 10% off the shop so am planning what pantry items I need also.

I hope anyone who is reading this is having a good day and if not I send you a big cwtch.

Ps I'll sort my signature soon!

  • Glad you've sorted out your CC's. Can I offer a tip...once transferred you should close the empty account & cut up the card, so you're not tempted to use it again. Hope the shopping goes well. I hate shopping...I write a list & I'm in & out asap...lol

Thank you, all of my cards are hidden away. I am not one to spend on the cards so much as do a money transfer to my account when things have been tight in order to pay my bills. I plan to keep the cards in case I need to shuffle the balance around in order to keep 0% interest rates. I realise that this is a short term solution though until the debt is paid down enough.

I have meal planned, written a list and stuck to it! I also had a 10% off voucher. My freezer has enough in it that we would have been OK just topping up this week with fruit and veg, and lunchbox stuff... however the 10% off voucher ends tomorrow so I ve done a lot of "stocking up" so that I won't have to go next week for more than fruit and veggies.

Pay day for one of my little part time ventures tomorrow! Another £100 in my account! I am really sticking to "my means" this month. It's tight as I didn't get paid what I had expected from my other part time venture, it was £200 down, but I ve just got to make it work and so have cut my cloth accordingly. I will NOT be doing any more money transfers, so I just have to be prudent this month. Next month it should work out better and I'll be paid more than double what I ve been paid this month, for that job. Just need to hang tight and stay fiercely determined. These boards are keeping me on track and focused, of which I am grateful for that 🙏
