Because the unit price has changed.
You should still get the £66 this month credited to your account.0 -
When you say "fixed contract" do you mean fixed tariff or 'fixed' Direct Debit in that you were just paying the same every month like most people do?0

I'm on a fixed contract paying the same amount every month till Sep 2013.0

You’ve misunderstood your contract. Even if you have a fixed unit price (which is what I think you’re trying to say) then if you use more you still pay more.DYB2 said:I'm on a fixed contract paying the same amount every month till Sep 2013.
If you are using more than the original estimate, your monthly payment will go up.

That doesn't quite answer the question. Either your tariff - the unit rates - are fixed, in which case the amount you need to pay will only change based on whether you use more or less than they estimated, or they're not, in which case they will have risen at the start of this month and thus your bills will go up.DYB2 said:I'm on a fixed contract paying the same amount every month till Sep 2013.
What does your tariff information say in your Octopus account? The bit that looks like this:

Sorry, my unit rates are fixed as shown above.0

What's your tariff called?
Edit: just because the rates are shown in the same format doesn't mean they're fixed. Mine change daily because that's what my tariff does. You really need to tell us what the name of your tariff is.
If it is fixed (i.e. not Flexible or Tracker/Agile/etc.), then their raising your DD will be because you either weren't paying enough to cover your estimated winter usage, or your estimated annual usage has increased so they've put your DD up accordingly.0 -

I am on Octopus 24M Fixed September 2021 v5 and I'm £500 in credit. I don't understand why my regular monthly payment of £180 isn't being reduced by £67 in October. I have asked Octopus but no reply.0

I have asked Octopus but no reply. If that was via email it may take a week or two to get a reply at the moment. If your DD was not automatically reduced, have you tried to reduce it yourself via your online account?Generally, if your account is in good order you can make whatever changes you deem fit to your monthly DD payments...
