£400 rebate on domestic property with commercial supply?
Hi, I'll try and keep this short. I move in June to a bungalow on a farm. I was with EON when I lived around the corner, but when i moved they wouldn't let me stay on as a customer (new postcode=new customer apparently) even though I was over £400 in credit. I tried Octopus, Utility Warehouse, Scottish Power et al and no one was taking on new customers. In a panic I begged the landlord to keep me on the farm supply which is where I am now... so, I am a commercial supply in a domestic property. I only run lights/sockets and cooker off the electric. Heating & hot water are kerosene and we have an open fire. Will I be entitled to the £400 or do I miss out? I've just paid over £900 to fill the tank (not even full) for heating and i'm terrified of running out as that was the last of my reserves.

You will not be, to be eligible for the £400/£66/67 pcm you need a domestic energy supply contract with a national energy provider, as you do not have that you are not eligible. If you can have a domestic supply fitted and have your own meter (not a sub-meter) then you could be eligible for any of the remaining months in the scheme.Floofy21 said:Hi, I'll try and keep this short. If you don't have your own domestic account with an energy supplier you won't get the £400.
Your landlord isn't allowed to charge you more than they pay for the energy, but if the farm is on a business contract rather than domestic they won't get the £400 either to pass on any discount.1
