Ukpc/dcb county court claim

Good afternoon,
I received a county court claim form issued 12th October 2022 for a parking charge from early 2019. The total amount being pursued is for £297.32! I am the registered keeper of the vehicle but i wasn't the driver. The driver went to a play centre and overstayed the 3 hour parking limit. The driver was met by 2 friends with there children that day too. In the following days all 3 drivers received a PCN relating to the same site. One driver is a policewoman and the other is a school teacher. In my opinion all 3 ladies are respectable, law abiding citizens who would never knowingly flout any parking rules or restrictions. So it is my opinion that the signage must not have been sufficient at this site for 3 different parties travelling in 3 separate cars to have all not noticed it. Going back to 2019 when the first letter came from UKPC asking for £60 or £100 thereafter I sent an email outlining my issues and proposed a more proportionate figure of £30 to settle the matter. This was not accepted by UKPC and they have chased it ever since through different avenues. Last month I received a letter before claim from DCB Legal and now I have been served this claim form. I am wondering how to proceed with my defence and witness statement once I submit my AOS.
i look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback,
Thanks

Hello and welcome. With a Claim Issue Date of 12th October, you have until Monday 31st October to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 14th November 2022 to file your Defence. That's almost four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
I thought I'd draw your attention to this fairly recent thread which you might have missed. You must keep going through all the necessary court procedure phases, but the hope is that your case will follow the same pattern as all those detailed in the thread. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
