Smart Parking Ringgo fine help please

Hi everyone
I received a fine notice from Smart Parking about parking session they said I hadn’t paid for.
I received a fine notice from Smart Parking about parking session they said I hadn’t paid for.
I paid for it through Ring go and sent the receipts through to them to appeal. They’ve rejected it as it had my old registration (from 8 years ago) on the evidence. Something must have happened on Ring go as I use it all the time to park for my current vehicle. Does this happen with Ring Go?
The letter says I can either Pay the fine or appeal to Popla but cannot do both so I am not sure what to do.
It is a major keying error but my appeal could be rejected.
Any suggestions or tips for me please?

What a shame you appealed first without coming here. You've admitted to driving, so you've binned the 100% 'nailed on' slam-dunk POPLA win that you had awaiting you if you'd just used our template appeal and ticked 'registered keeper'.
Never appeal to a PPC telling them the story of what happened and who was driving. Remember that in future.
Did they offer you to pay £20 in this letter, as it's a major keying error?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

To win at Popla vs smart all you need to do is ise this appeal text
"The parking operator does not have a contract in their own name to issue PCNs at this site"

No they didn’t. I didn’t know it was a keying entry until after I sent them the receipts and they referred to the old number plate. I’ve screwed it up haven’t I?Coupon-mad said:What a shame you appealed first without coming here. I was on the school run and couldn’t reply. What does that sentence mean please? Their name is all over the car park. So I thought they could issue PCNs1 -
Grizebeck knows what he is doing and has probably saved your appeal. It means they don't have a proper landowner authority. It's a winner at POPLA v Smart, because of the way they operate.
But I would add a second sentence as an alternative extra POPLA point:
Secondly, the operator identified that this was a 'major keying error' - see attached evidence showing the driver's other car numberplate - however they breached the BPA CoP because they failed to offer the mandatory £20 VRM keying error settlement.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
