Moved into new owned home yesterday. Energy currently supplied by British Gas. Is it cheaper for us to stay with current supplier or move to Octopus?
I know the advise isn’t to switch but are the rules the same if new owner/account?
Thanks

You must open an account with BG first, whatever you decide to do, only after that can you switch.Right now there will be little difference between the suppliers if you are on the standard variable tariff with a single rate.If you want to be on Economy 7 then you need to compare the pricing for your region and have a guess at how much you will use in the low-rate period.Same goes for the EV tariffs offered by Octopus (assuming you have an EV), you need to figure out how much charging you will do to see if that compensated for the higher day rate...1

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.1 -
Thank you. The longest purchase ever… 10 months for a empty chain free flat!
we have contacted British Gas and they have put us on a variable rate to start with and advised we can fix when we are ready1 -
