Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, air feels cool to start the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was scampi, chips/rice for the menfolk. I had fish and veg.
Work was quiet but then went busy - today will be the same I think.
Keep safe and well x
nmlc x

I ended up having an unexpected day out yesterday.. DD rang to see if I wanted a run over to Trinity to take DGD back. She had been home for the w/e. I say "home" but she was actually at her BF's all weekend! On route we stopped off for shopping for both her and DD and I managed to nab quite a few ys bargains to stash away in the freezer. My promise to get stocks down never happens but you can't turn a good bargain down can you!
Tuesday today so it's my regular coffee and lunch meet with BFF. Naughty side of the menu here I come no doubt! Last Tuesday it was much quieter so it seems some folk must already be cutting back.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Take care all and stay safe xx
That sounds a productive day @Gers. Good that you got some things at sale prices, and it is MSE if it's a planned and needed purchase. I think DH and I have got out of the habit of spending having had a few lean years with redundancy and children-related expenses. It takes us ages to spend money on big ticket items now!
My migraine shifted by about mid-morning yesterday - although it always leaves me feeling a bit drained. I tried to limit my intensive screen time yesterday but it's very hard. We moved back into our bedroom yesterday - new plush carpet, painted wardrobes and no clutter. We have 6 sacks for the charity shop and another for the tip. Still have a lot of stuff but we've been quite brutal especially with office clothes that are no longer needed.
Dinner tonight is beef and mushroom stroganoff from SW. I need to buy creme fraiche later. Washing will also go on today. @Gers I don't think I own 14 pairs of pants!
Have a good day everyone and hugs to our poorlies.
Coxy
Thanks for the start nmlc.
Washing on to make the most of the lovely weather.
will be freezer diving to see what to have for dinner
have a good day everyone
Very chilly here but looks to be a nice sunny day, two clients today and I shall take them bowling and then for a burger, todays two are lovely and always up for doing anything which makes for a nice day ! Ive not heard anything about the moany one so Im hoping she doesnt come again !
Dinner tonight is something with chicken breast and pasta I will concoct something later. I went to the shop yesterday to get a bit of brisket to try Taff's way of cooking it but the cheapest bit I could see was £14
Dw has been emptied this morning and ive had a quick tidy round, not enough washing to put a load on.
Have good days all xx
Gorgeous blue sky this morning but "by eck its parky" as we say oop north. Yesterday was positively tropical so hope it goes the same way today.
For any Asda shoppers the Christmas delivery slots opened today so I nabbed one on the 22nd. Thurs are my normal delivery days so will a pick up the odd thing between now and then and just use that slot for veg and fresh stuff. Major cut down this year I used to go mad but this year I'll just get a few treats extra that I know will get eaten.
I've pretty much sorted the stuff brought back from mums just need to get a very heavy sheepskin mattress topper upstairs for the mid winter. That should be fun getting that on. Lots of paperwork piles to sort and file too but procrastination will likely stop that. Off to see mum today with a few toiletry items and one of her winter coats. I have to strip off layers to go as her home is so hot.
TA enjoy your naughty choice x
Gers...14 waiting to wash?? I'm another who probably hasn't got that many in total
Coxy enjoy your new bedroom it sounds lovely
Have a good day everyone
Good pub music session last night with DH's morris side. One chap brought along his hurdy gurdy to play, which was lovely. Another musician came with a harmonium and sang a few songs as well so altogether an enjoyable evening.
I've been up and out early today as had to drop my car off at the garage to have a new water pump. The central computerised display is now not giving me any info but I shall wait and see how it is after the pump's been fixed. They shouldn't be connected but you never know!
After that I'll be dropping some things off at the charity shop and possible buying some Christmas Charger plates. I spotted them yesterday and DD says she would like them if they're still available. I also need to take a jacket of hers into the dry cleaners to see if the sewing lady there can fit a new zip.
Off to count my knickers - but there's more than 20!!
Chilly here this morning and I've no heating - plumber is coming tomorrow so hopefully it will get sorted then. The wet patch is spreading slowly across my bedroom floor and there's a couple more wet spots on the kitchen ceiling!
Yesterday was lovely in the morning - sunny and mild - but then the wind got up and it was wild.
I had a lovely chat with eldest DD last night who is now back from Turkey. She's just texted to say all of her team, who were all in Turkey, are being sent home to work as one of the boys has tested positive.
Started thinking about Christmas presents - I've bought little nephew a lego set and ordered a wooden pirate ship and pirates for little one. I'd looked at it on Amazon and it was almost £50 so looked on Ebay and someone had just listed the same one in hardly used condition - I paid £15 including postage! She often pretends to be a pirate...'shiver me timbers' being a frequent expression! So I'm sure she'll love it. Also got a wooden ice cream set sitting in my Amazon wish list for her.
The adult members of my family and my grown up DDs I've no idea what to get yet.
Well I need to clean my bathroom so I can put the towels in with my white washing - Gers there could well by 14 pairs of knickers in there plus a few pairs of little age 3 ones - I don't think I did a white wash last week. It's sunny so it I'll get it out on the line before I go to work.
I have my flu jab after work - it usually gives me an instant headache.
Hope everyone has a good day x
