ebay listing fees, I am being charged even though I have 980ish free listings left

I have about a dozen items for sale and am just leaving them to automatically relist each month. I have just been informed that I owe £5.60 in listing fees even though I have 999 free listings available each month. Has there been a change in relisting that I have missed or is this an ebay glitch? Thanks in advance for any help

It's likely in the small print somewhere that free listings only apply to new listings not relistings.
I haven't used ebay for a while, but I remember having something similar a while ago, when one of my listings relisted I was charged, and when I read the small print, it said for new listings only.
In order to use your 'free listings' you might need to make a fresh listing each time one expires. An ex-bankrupt on a journey of recovery. Feel free to send me a DM reference credit building credit cards from the usual suspectsHappy to help others going through what I've been through!

OP, you need to look at the fees to see which are being charged, there are 2 possibilities, either you have a chargeable extra or else one has been added by ebay. There are a number of glitches on ebay (my postage costs have been changed on several listings for instance) so something might have been inadvertently added.
Check that none of your listings are for instance auction with BIN option, none have a reserve and none are in 2 categories - these are the usual ones people add not noticing that they then do not get listed as free. The easiest way to find out on listings is to open one, click on sell similar go right to the end of the listing and see what is being charged (obviously don't list it- just delete when checked) .

Thank you Soolin. I have checked as you suggested and have found that ebay have added another category @ £0.35 each to my listings. Now to argue with them on a call back - annoying!!0

I found I needed to list for five days or more to get free listings.0

Hi, I recently listed something on eBay at £55 which sold at that price and I ended up with £48. How, I have no idea. I used eBay's packlink method of posting and I thought there was a note saying it was free between certain dates which applied to my listing - but I was charged for that as well as some other fees on top.
I don't know why I didn't get more but I've put it down to experience and moved on. I used to sell on eBay quite a lot but have now decided to give it a miss. I'll still buy from eBay - what they say you will pay is what you do pay but I feel totally bamboozled as a seller - I expected to get more than £48 for my item.
Oh well! I don't know if that's helpful or not but it was my recent experience and I did feel that I'd been swindled but there again, it could have been my own fault - small print missed, etc. In a way it's a little bit comforting to know that I'm not alone in my bamboozlement. If indeed there is such a word. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
