Santander lost my esaver application 😡😡😡

Be warned if you are still waiting for your esaver account to be opened. I applied on 11th and my application was acknowledged and I was told they’d update me in 3 working days. Strange hubbies account was opened instantly as we both already have online banking.
After 3 days I phoned and did several online chats waiting on hold for anything up to an hour!
Told on more than one occasion that due to demand wait times were now 4-5 working days. At no point was I told that there was a problem.
however today after another lengthy wait I was informed my application had been lost! How can you lose an online application even when quoting a reference number!

I was told to reapply!!!! …and presumably go to the back of the queue! Apparently I am not the first and he quoted that it appeared to be happening to applications starting with 2.
I subsequently reapplied online whilst on the phone to a lovely lady who couldn’t help me with my complaint enough. This time I instantly received a confirmation, account number and sort code, funny that!
sooo, message to the wise. Some applications might be taking 4-5 working days but don’t take that as so.
now awaiting a response to my complaint. If they can ‘lose’ my application, how safe is my money?

I am in the same situation, I chased after 5 days and was told that applications are taking longer than usual. I can forgive that for a bank releasing a market leading product as its impossible to scale to the the demand, but with a rate like theirs its making quite a financial difference to my current rate elsewhere.
Did they at least compensate you for their application processing (or losing) error?0 -

But my account is still not open!
And, sinister this, my new OLA number begins with 2 just as the old one did....
However, as I was assured that the account will be opened ((although assistant could not tell me when) I'll wait and see.Did they at least compensate you for their application processing (or losing) error?
Yes, and apparently a letter of apology and complaint settlement will follow.0 -
They lost my application for converting my account to a 123 lite too.NewYorkNo1fan said:however today after another lengthy wait I was informed my application had been lost! How can you lose an online application even when quoting a reference number!
The reference number they had given me during the application was not on their system.
Weirdly when I selected to upgrade it again, it went through pretty much straight away and then a few days later I got an error message telling me I couldn't upgrade it as it was already a 123 lite. So I assume maybe the second one caused the first to get unstuck or something.
I complained, got £40.0 -
I can't bothered to deal with them.. Still waiting for mind to be set up.. Joined cynergy bank with the same rate.. Opened right away.0

Awaiting them getting back to me atm.but doubt their response will be any quicker than their account opening processTom_Hendo said:I am in the same situation, I chased after 5 days and was told that applications are taking longer than usual. I applied on the 11th and had a confirmation email. Nothing else materialised. I already had log in details, as I've used them previously.
I read a post last night about some applications being lost, so I re-applied last night. Account was up and running by this morning. I don't feel very confident in using Santander. I was glad the last time to leave them.
I opened Cynergy last night. No issues at all.0 -
I opened a Esaver account yesterday to get the rate. It was opened immediately. Paid a test transaction in and it showed within a minute.0
