Refund from Wowcher

I recently saw a deal on wowcher, a 2 night city break in Berlin. So I bought it at a cost of £287.99. I tried to redeem the voucher via Travelogo's website but it would not let me so I called them. They went through all the details of the break, the first option was very poor arrive Berlin at Friday 2255 and depart Sunday 0600, so I said i'm not interested. They offered different flights and hotels, by the end of the call we had a package that worked. Then they asked for an additional £49 per person, at that point it is no longer a discounted city break. so I said i'm not interested a don't wish to proceed (redeem).

Wowcher's refund policy is a full refund within 7 days of purchase unless the wowcher voucher has been redeemed, which I believe has not. I contacted Travelogo and they said that it auto redeems. Despite this I believe I have 14 days to cancel any online purchases.

I have contact Wowcher's customer services and travelogo and received no reply.

  • Keep on at Wowcher.  travelogo don't have to do anything because they have no contract with you.  Good luck, though.  From stories on here, Wowcher and similar voucher providers can be complicated to deal with.  I simply wouldn't bother using them, they just introduce another link in the chain and can break your consumer rights link with the ultimate service provider.

If you get anything. That full refund will be in a credit to your wowcher account. As wowcher have provided the voucher. The fact that it can not be used for the offer it was intended for is not their fault.

You can cancel online purchases with the exception of things like vouchers, which is what you have purchased.

Wowcher will refund you with a voucher for £287.99 as this is what you have purchased. You *could" redeem the voucher but it would only get you 1 day in Berlin as the flight times were not ideal but that is still a 2 night break.

There are SO many posts the same as this, but as you have bought a voucher then this is what you will end up with, and you will have to find something else to spend £287.99 on with Wowcher, so it might be best just to pay the additional £49 per person for times and flights that are convenient and NEVER waste money on places like Wowcher again!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    That's not what Wowcher's T&Cs say:

    Can I refund/cancel my Wowcher?

We offer a no-quibble 14 day money back guarantee on all unredeemed Wowchers (starting from the day after the day you receive your Wowcher) whereby if you originally paid in cash, you can receive a 100% cash or 100% Wowcher Wallet Credit...

The issue seems to be whether the voucher is still unredeemed as the OP believes or whether it has been 'auto-redeemed' as Travelogo claims.

Wowcher's T&Cs say (if you dig down deep enough)
How do international travel voucher deals work?

International travel voucher deals are most common when there are a limited number of travel dates; these are usually used for events or unique deals like Mystery Holiday. Unlike a calendar, these deals will provide you with a drop down list of options to select. You will be required to complete a booking form shown under the redemption information on your voucher(s). We strongly recommend completing these forms within 48 hours of purchase, so the holiday provider can effectively process your booking. Your voucher code(s) will auto-redeem after two days.

Do you mean in general? You can't cancel online purchases such as tickets etc. I believe wowcher also have some live events that are non refundable.
