EDF Energy Rebate

I was under the impression as a Budget Direct Debit customer with EDF and according to their website, that the rebate would be paid via Direct Debit back to my bank. I have set my Direct Debit to £160 taking this into account as that will more than cover my usual annual usage, Having checked my EDF account today, it shows my previous bill, which is in credit of £740.97 (dated 13th October 2022) the readings from my smart meter are correct and not estimated.

Following that in Bills and Payments it now shows £66 Bill Credit. Not sure why they have done this, anyone else had a credit with EDF Budget DD rather than a rebate?

Its all horses for course - just curious.

You should first get a credit of £66 to your EDF account and then a £66 payment wil be made to your bank account (a debit from your EDF account). The £66 credit has to be made first. Expect the debit (payment to your bank account) to happen in the next few days.
I've just checked my (EDF) account and the £66 credit has been added so I'm expecting it to be paid to my bank account at some point this week.

It should be in your bank within 5 days of the £66 refund appearing on your account
  • The first £66 has been credited to my EDF account and a £66 refund paid to my bank account according to the app. However, as far as I can see, on checking my latest bill dated 27 October the refund to my bank account has been debited against my monthly DD payments but no credit has been made. This means I have not received the government payment for October. It doesn’t matter if it shows in the app. it needs to show on the bill. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILLS.

have you checked the detail of your bill not just the summary of payments in and out? a few people have found the 66 discount has been taken off there usage directly (probably because the systems werent designed for this so they had to put it in wherever they could). other people have found it down where vat is worked out or by looking at the totals for usage and adding them up and finding a -66 discrepancy.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.
  • I have done now after reading another post. I can see that the £66 has been credited on the bill but must say it is as clear as mud. Thanks.

I have done now after reading another post. I can now see that the £66 has been credited on the bill but without any explanation. Thanks.
