How is it disability discrimination? They are free to claim UC if they wish, and they are free to switch to a different provider whose social tariff does include income-based ESA. It might not seem entirely fair but it's not discrimination on the basis of disability - any nondisabled person claiming a legacy benefit will also be excluded.bluemoomoo1 said:
Complain to Virgin Media that it is discrimination under The Equality Act 2010, as you are on a low income on ESA and disabled.hrani said:Just to let you know how virgin media rips off people on benefits as we have tried to get there essential broadband cos we are on ESA but they only take universal credit and we haven't been moved over yet . Surely that is discrimination against people on low income as they are basically the same benefit all the other companies that offer cheap broadband accept ESA and we with the cost off living we can't afford to pay is there anything we can do?Many thanks
Disability discrimination is things like only providing telephone contact, refusing to provide paper bills in large print, or refusing service because they assume disabled = . It's hard enough to fight legitimate complaints let alone muddying the waters with issues that aren't actually discrimination on the basis of disability.3
