Morning all. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday turned into a less slothful day than planned. Lots of little niggling chores got done and then my friend arrived to sort out picture hanging, table moving, curtains and lamp bulb removing. The two bulky spare duvets are going out, one fairly new one to my cleaner and the other to the dump. It pains me that duvets can't be reused but understand why. The one being passed on was dry cleaned in early spring so I'm happy about passing it on.The SCD result was the right one I think, shame but inevitable.Today I need to do a day trip to Glasgow to collect an order I forgot about last week, whilst there I'll pick up some new paper lampshades, the ones I have are now nine years old and looking worse for the wear. I really like that the bulbs aren't visible so will replace them. The rain is back to hammering down though forecasted to stop by mid morning. For now I wish everyone a very happy Monday.10

Morning all. Lovely weekend with family in Wiltshire, now back home to the seaside. Another family get together today with a tour of where my Grandad worked many years ago.
A day at home tomorrow I think!
have a good day allCarolbee9 -
Morning all; bit dull here today. That's a shame as I have bedding to hang out, so I'll wait a bit and see if the sun comes out.
Yesterday was still busy, but in a more controlled way. I got some food shopping done, 2 lots of laundry washed and dried then DH cooked us some gammon for a late lunch. Unfortunately he then broke a tooth whilst eating it and has just had to phone the dentist to organise a temporary repair.
Today I'll try to make some biscuits before collecting DGS from pre school this afternoon and then tonight we're off to a pub music session.
Hope everyone's day goes well.8 -
IzzyBee said:Gers have you got a animal rescue anywhere near you they will take the quilt for bedding where I work we get people who don’t collect there quilts and that’s what we do with them .Thanks for the suggestion, it's kind of you. I tried that but the animal rescue people near me don't take them, the staff told me that dogs and cats rip the duvets and feathers get everywhere - even in the throats of the animals!Rain seems to e drying up but the sky looks heavy with it still. I've dragged the unwanted curtains downstairs, one set of bedding, two wall hangings and one jumper - all destined for a CS. It'll feel to so good to get all this out of the house but I have to wrestle them into a big bag now. I've ordered some new lamp bulbs from Screwfix which I'll collect today in Glasgow. Paper lampshades also ordered, (I decided that I didn't want to drive into the city centre) they'll come in the post on Friday.

Morning all
It's grey and damp in Kent. Plans fir today are mainly food shopping for the basics I'm trying to clear the freezer a bit at the moment. Dinner is sausage casserole. I'm still trying to get straight in the house but I'm getting there. I hope I don't get Covid again, we've got a ward full off it at the moment. Off to do my cleaning job shortly. Have a good day all 😊8 -
Morning all, it's been hammering down most of the night, but it's stopped now and the sun is out. I rang Dad last night and he was poorly with an upset tummy. He was coming over today for lunch but he's declined, we were going to have faggots and peas which I don't think be the right thing to eat with a dickie tummy anyway 🤢 We'll have ours today though and freeze the rest for another day.
If it dries up enough so that the cover isn't soaking wet, we'll go over to the 'van and collect the last of the seat cushions and the curtains. Then the curtains will be here and ready to wash when we have a good drying day. This afternoon I need to check my stores then write a shopping list ready for tomorrow.
NRA glad you're having a lovely time in sunny Mexico.
Madbat stay safe, my DD caught covid at work too.
Have a good Monday all.
Take care. Hugs to anyone in need or poorly.

Morning all,
Woke up at 4.30am with a migraine - so painful - so am WFH today instead of schlepping it into the London office. It's foul weather too, so think I made the right choice. Will go in on Wednesday instead. Am feeling brighter now I've had tea, tablets and overnight oats!
I had 3 bay of E sales over the weekend, so will package those up and hopefully take to L0ndis later as there's an Evr! pick up point there. Much closer and more convenient that the PO.
Carpet fitters are here and making a lot of noise. Final 3 carpets - our bedroom, box room and landing/stairs. We will move furniture and clothing back to rightful places later. Almost there....!
Sorry your DDad is not 100% @nannywindow - enjoy the faggots!
@Madbat60 hope you manage to avoid the dreaded Covid.
Shame about the duvets @Gers - decluttering is so cathartic though! I have a few bags to take to the CS when I get time.
Dinner tonight is smoked salmon and pea pasta courtesy of Gino. Nice and quick, and very tasty too.
Have a good day all

Morning all
Been raining all night here but it looks like the sun is due out later, will see if there is enough washing and put a load on.
No clients today, one has a hospital appointment and the other one is the moany one, turns out I have to give her 28 days notice, so she may have to come for two more sessions I told them I cant have her today as I had an appointment, which is a lie but I just couldnt face her, im hoping her mum decides not to bring her again, her mum has decided that SL is not right for her and she needs to be with younger people which is what ive been saying all along !
Left over roast for dinner tonight but there is no meat left so I will nip to the shop and get a small piece of something.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all. SUnny! After yesterdays interminable rain. Which means I can start my new project of tidying up a small area at the back of the garden. The new gifted hotbin needs a home and I need to tidy up the edging around where the rhubarb etc is and the current bin, so I'm using the wood I took from the front garden for new edging,I will need to shift a bit of earth and so some jiggling around but I'm looking forward to it. It will look nicer. And I have another project to do, make a couple of bottomless shelf things for the porch so I can put the kindling in there and the recycle boxes have something to stand on. I have a sheet of wood in the garage doing nothing so I can play with my power tools. Those should keep me busy for a couple of weeks anyway. Tonight is what's left of the brisket and I've decided a cottage pie is in order for tomorrows supper. so I can make a big pile of mash [to go with the brisket] then put the rest on the cottage pie. Although I've just been a bit distracted and thought of somehting to do with chicken, rice and piri piri sauce....Uh oh...Oh well, I'll make something anyway...And I need to do a freezer inventory. I'm missing some stuff and have double of others.Izzy, good luck with the doc, fingers crossed...Coxy, you should have an advent calendar for the end of the deocrating nanny, can't beat a faggot, hope he's better today. Gers, any womens shelters there? They might. Or homeless charities? WL, hope he gets it done right quick...Ruby, can you be sick and have appointments a lot? Take care all, it's stillnippy today...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...7
