Natwest Overpayment options?

So, we've been accepted for a mortgage with Natwest, our monthly payments will be lower than our current rent, so our intention is to overpay the mortgage each month with the difference as a minimum. I've looked all through the contract, small print etc and it only seems to give the option to make overpayments directly with the mortgage payment each month, having to notify them of any changes 15 days before the payment's made. Does anyone know/have any experience of whether it's possible to set up a standing order and pay this way, so if we have extra one month we can pay more, or if its a short month pay less etc?

Please do also consider other investment options, such as increasing your pension contributions, or contributing into a stocks & shares ISA.

Over the long term these are very likely to generate a better return than overpaying the mortgage. Additionally, should you need access to this money, they are more accessible without needing to remortgage or sell the house.

Obviously bearing in mind the above feedback, if you do decide to overpay you can simply transfer money as and when (I called up and got the correct bank details/reference to use from the NW mortgage team so please do this if you proceed that way) or you can have the overpayment deducted at the same time as your monthly mortgage DD payment.

Can't remember exact links but when I view the mortgage on the NW app there's a 'manage my mortgage' option which allows you to view balance, use an overpay recalculator and set/change overpayment amounts.
