Credit Card For Student Doing Work Placement
Comments

Remember that each time he actually applies for a credit card - a hard search will appear on his credit file. From what you've said he's tried at least twice - so that's at least two hard searches. How many actual applications has he made?WSB said:He tried applying for th Lloyds credit card initially as a student and then again as an employee. The latter failed too but maybe he was flagged up then.Maybe try another company but initially apply as an employee.
You may find that if he has a thin credit file, and two hard searches (or more) already - that he might get auto-declined for any further applications so close to the previous ones.
He might be better off waiting a few months - and then trying again for the HSBC student credit card option - or one of the credit builder options such as Vanquis, Capital One, Aqua (all of whom have eligibility checkers on their respective websites).1
