Crystal travel hotel rooms

Hello,
Does anyone have any experience of crystal travel for booking hotel rooms. I saw an advert for a hotel in holland which was about 200 cheaper a night - a basic room. I called both the hotel chain and crystal travel - the hotel chain knew nothing about the booking (we aren't travelling till Mid dec) and when I spoke to crystal travel they said I would receive my travel vouchers in 10-12 days. Have read some bad reviews regarding booking flights with them - wondered if anyone had any experience with hotel rooms.
Thank you.

I am assuming you have booked, given that you have followed up with the hotel chain and Crystal travel?
It's not unhead of for a hotel or the chain not to know your booking details. Often online travel agents will book via intermediaries known as "bed banks". These resell rooms that they or other tour operators may have block booked with hotels and often the hotel itself just know rooms are block booked and won't receive the traveller details until much nearer arrival.
Your hotel voucher will usually name the intermediary and will say something like "Issued on behalf of Hotelbeds" or "Booking settled by YouTravel" etc.
I know it can feel unnerving - I booked a hotel earlier this year at less than half the price of the hotel website and most online sites and there was always a niggle in my mind. But everything worked fine, I could even check in on the hotel's website a couple of days before (large chain). Wasn't Crystal, but a similar thing.1 -
Sorry, yes I booked as it was too good not to (brain fog as post-nights : )).
Thank you for responding - feel much more reassured.0
