Advice needed uni student coming home

Hi my daughter is thinking of moving back home and commuting to uni instead of living there. Problem is I am on benefits and I am not sure if her having a maintenance loan will effect my benefits.

Any advice
Thanks
Kim

You will need to report the changes if she does return home. If you are currently the only adult living at home then your council tax reduction will have a single person discount. You will still be entitled to this because students are disregarded but you will need to tell them she's a full time student. They may ask for proof of this.
If any of your benefits include the Severe disability Premium then you will lose this unless your daughter either claims a qualifying disability benefit such as PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care or she's registered blind.
She will still need to pay her rent for where ever she's living now, are you aware of that?

The fact she gets a maintenance loan makes no difference to your benefits but her presence may do, as described by poppy.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

My husband gets higher rate pip for both and esa. I claim carers allowance but thats for my son who claims dla and I get child benefit and child tax credits for two children including the disabled one. She was plan on trying to get someone to take over her accommodation. Thanks kim

Her student loan would have included extra money for living away from home. If she finds someone else for her accommodation, i don't know what will happen to her existing student loan.

Shes planning on paying till December term which is £1649 and then getting someone to take over the agreement for the two other terms. She would need to contact the maintenance laon place because her loan would go down by about £1800 for the year.
Trying to figure it out before she makes a decision on living arrangements.
