What do Octopus call their SVR?

As all the utility companies have slightly different capped figures for kWh and standing charges, I'd like to crunch some numbers.

Currently with British Gas. Considering moving to Octopus.

I know the SVR rates for BG. I know my usage. I cannot get my head around Octopus' terminology to find their pricing info for the capped/SVR rates for the East Midlands.

I could phone, but it's after hours on a Friday, and my voice and hearing are not functioning properly (yep, covid fun); can't attest to how well my brain is functioning either.

Thanks in advance.

    They don’t all have different capped rates. They all actually have the same cap - it wouldn’t be much of a cap if it was different for each company!

    Although perhaps by luck you are asking about one of the two that does (very slightly) price their variable tariff below the cap.

    Mine was called flexible when I was with them. It’s going to be the same as the other providers anyway at the moment because they’re all sitting on the same SVR cap for your area.
    All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

    Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Yep, the way I phrased it was incorrect.

     There is a cap, but I believe the companies have chosen their own, possibly different rates, upto and including that cap.

    So there may be a smidge of a difference between them.

    That's what I'm trying, and have yet failed to find.
  • If you visit this link: https://octopus.energy/tariffs/ and put your postcode in, but do not click anything, then a list of all tariffs come up. For the SVR you need to scroll down for "Flexible Octopus October 2022 v1"

    BG
    Gas = 10.237p
    S/C = 28.485p

    Elec = 33.018p
    S/C  = 45.769

    If the Octopus figures are exactly the same, then excellent, I'll be switching.

    The Octopus tariff page is just being updated at the moment, so you may see some weirdness there, but the tariff you want is still  "Flexible Octopus October 2022 v1" as mentioned above...

    Ah, I'd found that thanks @mwt, but it seemed geared towards E7, and was missing data for the Electric bit. I was hunting for a another pricing box as a consequence.

    This is what I was seeing...

    Ooh, that's something I need to double check too. Whether unit prices are quoted with or without VAT.
    So thanks for stating "incl VAT".
