LCWRA/backdated sick note

What authority does DWP have for refusing to accept a backdated sick note? The GP issued a backdated sick note covering the period 4/8/21 - 23/10/22. The claim has been treated as LCWRA (no obligations set) and WCA successful from 23/9/22. DWP seem to want to avoid paying out a lot of money having delayed sending out the WCA questionnaire and then the IHAS delaying organising a telephone assessment. PIP in payment - lower rate care (11 points), 12 points for mobility covering the same period and still in payment now.

Assuming from the reference to LCWRA that this is for UC, what date was the health condition first reported?0

When did you report the health condition and have you provided continuous Fit Notes since then?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
