    Just make sure you make HMRC a priority creditor if you do have debt to them. They do make people bankrupt.

    Consumer debt providers buy up debt for a portion of the original value. They can usually make a good profit if you pay back 40-50% via a DMP, so they are not going to waste £680 hoping to get you to pay back the same via bankruptcy. 

    With old debt they might settle for less than 20% full and final.
