FTB New build home, getting nowhere with a confirmed completion date

I wouldn't assume that means it's a confirmed date, as opposed to just one they're working towards.

Agree. From this update it sounded sorted, BUT you also said your solicitor said they still hadn't had the confirmed date from the builder. Ring your solicitor and just make sure they KNOW completion is definitely this Friday.

This was at the very top of the statement. 

I’m now 2nd guessing this being the completion date?! But this was how we were informed of completion, along with the statement.

I keep getting told that only solicitors can provide me with completion date, which is fine and totally understandable. But then I have my sales exec saying he will see us Friday 21st to hand over keys etc!

So the update from today - solicitors have provided us the completion statement but claim they still don’t have the notice from developer about completion?! 

I’ve contacted mortgage broker to send solicitors confirmation of our building insurance as we are sure he sorted that along with the mortgage. 

But it’s one that isn’t to start until we have a completion date, so that’s been a fun stress to have added on top of everything else! Hopefully he will reply back confirming everything…I may just phone NatWest tomorrow myself to get the answers for this and if it’s not been sorted then I can sort it myself 🙈 

Yeh, I've got my completion date of Wednesday the 26th, which is now confirmed between the sales ex and my solicitor although it was supposed to be the 21st. So I'm just spending some time this weekend getting the remaining bits packed up which didn't look like a massive job until you start emptying cupboards etc. 

I've got a big van booked for Tuesday & Wednesday which is slightly worrying as I've never driven a van before but I'm going to load it up the night before, so it's all ready on Wednesday which should speed up the moving process on the day.  

I would take your solicitor's final word in regard to completion as they are the ones who tend to set this with the sales ex solicitors. Also, my building insurance was included with my service charge which I thought was a bit strange so I've not had to worry about that but I can imagine it adds to all the stress.

I think I was making sure that the costs were correct and so hyper focussed on that, that I didn’t see the date for completion. It is for the 21st, so that’s a weight off my shoulders, but now to get everything else sorted by then, whilst also working and studying!! I don’t make things easy for myself haha!!
