Settling court claim

I have sent my defence off and received the letter from DCB legal that VHS are going ahead with the claim of £720. Which x3 parking tickets (residential)

I really cant be dealing with any of this right now due to a lot of personal problems and financial stress.

They have said that they may be prepared to settle the case and to call a number to do so. I am tempted to do this, so I have some questions:
  • If I attempt to settle the amount will this go against me in court if they decline my offer?
  • I can give them all my savings, which is only £50 (thanks to the cost of living crisis) I have nothing else - will they just laugh at this offer?
Im so so annoyed at these heartless parasites going after the vulnerable in the middle of a cost of living crisis, it is vile.

I sympathise with your situation, but I would be surprised if they were to accept such a low percentage of claim. There are plenty of people on here ready willing and able to help you, if you can give more details.

It seems that you have sent in a defence to a Court Claim. Is that correct or are we not there yet? What did your defence say? (redact any personal details)

Why do we have a second thread about this?

He said his brain is scrabbled - probably easier to start new thread?

Anyway - advice is not to pay them - I don't think they'd accept and you can win this anyway.

Ha. Now I see. Details elsewhere, different thread. WHY ????  More fool me for taking this one at face value, I suppose

Because it's a forum and this is specific to my situation? I tried to search and couldn't find anything.

Sorry I'm not following? My first thread was about my defence and now this is about me wanting to potentially make a settlement because of recent family trauma

But if it is this thread: -

it is easier and less confusing to keep it all on one thread.  If it is a different issue by all means have two threads.

It helps to stay on just the one thread and hit 'reply' to ask extra questions, as it gives us context. We can advise you much better.

But to confirm the answer, I'm afraid they will bully you and see you as a victim and you'll feel bad and harassed. Do not respond to that so called offer.

So don't offer money and definitely don't tick yes to Mediation.

claim of £720. Which x3 parking tickets (residential).
That is an appalling amount for £300 in PCNs - and in fact they are unlikely to get a penny from you in the end. Keep the faith.

We will help you when you need it before your hearing, at WS and evidence stage - just reply on your main thread each time.  You can find it easily by clicking on your own username which shows all your discussions and replies.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
