Are there any student offers for gas, water bills, etc. (starting my second year)?

Hi,

At the end of September I'm going back up to Sheffield into my first house =/ We've got to arrange all the bills ourself (it's not included in our weekly rent and for us to sort out who we choose to provide each) so I was just wondering if any electric, water, gas, telephone and internet company has special student offers (everything else seems to!)

I'm doubting it but thought I'd just ask in case. MSE always has a lot of info on the cheapest provider and I'm gonna have to start making use of that information now ^^

Cheers,

Rich

  • hey, i'm in the same position but i've just rang ntl and they do a nine month contract for students only, broadband and free evening and weekend calls for £20.49, dont know how many other companies do nine month contracts but that should save some money!!

    Cat,

Nice one - thanks for the reply ^^

Sounds good to me - just got to look for gas and electricity now I think.

    Take it easy

Noo don't do it - NTL is only £9.99 a month for 12 months at the mo so that makes £120, you'd be paying £20.49 x 9 = £184.41. (free evening calls are worth nought really).

You'd have to think about the download limit (not sure its in force yet) as with lots of students using it I'm sure you'd probably go over it so maybe an unlimited package is better!
