October 2022 – £400 Update
HELP WITH COSTS:
We (Park Homes Policy Forum) had asked the government to ensure that distribution of the help would not involve park owners and now understand that the Bill will provide powers to deliver the funding through local authorities.
The below letter was received by us today which clarifies the current position:
Thank you for email and the link below. I just want to say that the Government understands the concerns about energy costs and is working as fast as it can to provide support to all households, including park home residents. The Government has today issued a press release for its Energy Prices Bill which will underpin the support it aims to provide. The press release is available at https://www.gov.uk/…/government-introduces-new-energy….
The £400 support will be passed to park home residents under the Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Fund. The details are still being worked up. I have in the meantime passed your contact details to BEIS colleagues in case they want to discuss or consult with residents on any specific issues.
Kind regards
William
