Energy price cap rates calculation
Hi, does anyone know how the rates as per ....
www.moneysavingexpert.com utilities what-are-the-price-cap-unit-rates- #tool
have been calculated? (can't post links!)
Specifically, 'Prices vary by region – see regional direct debit rates and charges' section.

My provider is using different rates and is disputing the rates on MSE.
I can see Eastern Gas Standing Charge = 28.49p / day but my provider is using 31.31p / day.
I'm on a Fixed Tariff so not sure if that makes any difference.
Thanks.

If you are on a fix then the SC will be as advised when you fixed and can be above the EPG rate.
Your unit rates should be at or below the figure for your region.1 -
Yes it makes a difference if you are on a fixed tariff. Your standing charge will be whatever you agreed to when you signed the fixed tariff.
Only the unit rates are reduced, not the standing charges for fixed tariffs.0 -
It makes a massive difference that you are on a fix - there is no cap or discount to standing charges on fixed tariffs.0
