I suspect they will be more useful in smaller towns and villages that are less likely to have parcel lockers and I suppose even in cities that might have them, the chances are that someone will have a post box closer to them than the parcel lockers.Dizzycap said:
I thought that's what the RM inpost lockers were for? I can't see these pillar boxes holding more than 6-8 shoe box sized parcels at a time! I can see them being a benefit in more rural areas where people might want to post parcels and have a 10-15 mile trip to do so. Now that would make for a sensible move, but hardly unlikely!NBLondon said:Anybody seen one of these yet? Solar-powered postboxes are being rolled out across UK - BBC News
Postbox spotters are up in arms saying these are ugly and will be an excuse to shut down subpostoffices in some areas. I can see their point but for sending out the test parcels, this would be a lot easier for me if there was one nearby. No queuing with a mailbag at the PO, can send at 7am if I want to.
I'm due to go on rest in the next couple of weeks after a 6+ month stint and to be honest, it will be nice to have a break over the Christmas period as I usually have enough to post The rest period email states that I can still partake in regular app quizzes which should be interesting. It does seem that it only going to be the proper pillar boxes which will be converted and not any of the smaller boxes on posts. Unfortunately, all of the boxes close to me are the latter!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Hi I have been on my rest period and back now. Just received my first bundle to post and I Have 2 packages, assuming books in them. This is my first time posting parcels, not sure how I managed to avoid it last time. Are the parcel post boxes and parcel lockers completely different things? So use to just walking to my local post box. Thanks0

You will have received some important
information a few weeks ago regarding the new
Parcel Lockers and the Collect+ services that
Royal Mail are now offering. As these services
are not currently set up to accept stamped mail,
please do not post any of your test items at these
locations.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein1

Yes, they are completely different things. Parcel post boxes are just post boxes with a big safety slot. The lockers are in supermarkets or other places and people have to buy the postage online, then the locker automates everything else.twiglet66 said:Hi I have been on my rest period and back now. I've just received a presentation pack, garden animals or whatever it's called, and the accompanying letter said that here is my quarterly incentive. 'Quarterly' Hmm. I wonder if the composer of the letter doesn't understand what the word means or are we all being short changed.1

Odd - Spectos sent me a letter today with my October incentive stamps. I went on pause at the end of September. Something is amiss but I'm up on the deal so not really complaining. Time to find someone to buy my excess 1st Large booklets again.I need to think of something new here...1

I too received October stamps today but was paused at the end of September.1

contacted support twice (and done the delivery surveys in the meantime) and they’ve just said we’ve passed this on to the team to get sorted
 Still no stamps
It took them 4 months to send mine!
I think thats unacceptable really - we do the process for them as required within their time limits the least they can do is send rewards on time or just give us points instead2
