Same panels, same ac dc stuff and the same battery. Price was virtually the same but we didn't have the iboost but had 12 panels vs 10.
Really happy with the equipment, quality, neatness and speed of installation.
If you want 14 panels, ask for 14. It will probably be around £1200 more.
Half the companies we contacted suggested optimisers. Half said not. I'm glad we did for the insurance of future shading as trees do grow..!
do you mind sharing how their installation works? Like scaffolding, time etc
They done 2 installs in the area on my install day. I was the afternoon Job.
Took between 7 to 8 hours 'start to finish'.
Nothing was delivered in advance.
Daryl, Mike and an electrician (matt, I think) came in the morning to drop off a bunch of boxes and to clarify with me where the panels were going and to clarify where the external wires go. The electrician checked the loft etc. All of this was already discussed at survey, so no new surprises.
Afternoon arrives and 3 roofers come with the panels and battery in the van. No scaffs used for ours. Just ladders.I guess they would otherwise spend 4 hours putting up and down a platform tower.
Then they make a whole load of noise and put the panels up. Avoid Teams calls when the roofers are there! Maybe spent 1.5 hrs each side of the roof, so 3 hours on the roof fitting the rails, optimisers (which are huge), wires and panels. Very kind and courteous guys.
They done the job well, kindly asked to use the loo, and asked for us when they wanted to show us what they had done and check if we were happy.
Then electricians, wire runners, people, Daryl come whilst they are here, and do all the fuse board, external wiring, and loft stuff/inverter/battery stuff. They just get on with it, don't faff around. They took good time to build a rapport and demonstrate the equipment/apps.
In all I think I saw 8 different people, all of whom were professional and courteous and kind. I regularly offered drinks but they came prepared.
Installation finished at around 7.15pm I guess. Maybe 7.30pm.
No solar production as it was too dark, and I didnt see any solar production happen till around 10.30am the following morning (Saturday). But I think that's the time when the solaredge was activated
Invoice followed on the next working day. I paid it that day in full and got paperwork extremely fast. G98 pending.
All in all, very easy. You're in safe hands.
Note that I paid in full on the day they sent me the invoice.
Hies warranty stuff followed after a further 2 working days.
Happy to answer any further questions.ecraig said:Harry1986 said:ecraig said:Harry1986 said:ecraig said:We had light renewables do our installation. 12 panels with the optimisers. I'm with Octopus already, made the switch after I decided to get solar so I would be ready! I'm currently on the Eco7 tariff for electricity. The rate in my area is 'only' 16p kwh overnight. Will use this to charge the batteries up overnight during the winter. Just wondered if this is something you have considerd yet.

I just had a similar (but solar only) system installed by Light Renewables, this week, and had a similar experience to ecraig. The original quote was for 10 panels, but my own calculations suggested only 9 would fit (6 SE and 3 SW). It was kept as 10 on the basis that next door had 7 on their SE side, with an agreed reduction if I was right (which I was).Electricians turned up first (Alex and Ryan) got the lay of the land then left to get some additional parts from the wholesaler while they were waiting for the roofers who turned up an hour later and got stuck in pretty quickly. Took them about 4-5 hours. I paid the bill the next day and had the paperwork the day after.I don't have a copy of the G98 yet, but I do have an acknowledgement from national grid.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux3

LR seem to have turned a corner when it comes to sorting out their paperwork, but PLEASE anyone else don't pay in full before receiving the paperwork. I made that mistake in March and it's still being sorted (with the help of NAPIT and a Section 75 criedit card complaint)
L:ike most people though I'm happy with the system and the installation (mostly)4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. SE London/Kent. Fitted 03/22 £1,025/kW + battery £24951 -
Fingers crossed my G99 has all gone through ok with them!

I have date booked for next week and fingers crossed everything goes smoothly. I have G99 already approved so it will be just main paperwork’s from them will be pending post installation.0 -
They ballsed up reassembling my consumer unit, the back plate wasn't seated properly so my Electric cooker cut out and I needed to get my local sparky to fix it. They're also way late on my G99.
The price is right but you absolutely should reserve some money for when they finish the paperwork.8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.2 -
