They don't want to go larger as it means a G99 form which is more effort for them and potentially Costa money depending on your region.

BUT they could put more panels up and keep the inverter size so it avoids the need for G99. It would mean on high production days you wouldn't get the full benefit, but most of the time you would. So there's no excuse.

Why have a separate battery and Inverter? That's just additional cost.

Do you have shading? If not then the Solar edge stuff is just vanity. If you do then it may be worth while.

    LR Renewables should know better.
    8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.
  • yes, I spoke to him and he is very reluctant. let's see once we get our survey done.
  • Hyundai or Sharp panel. Which one to go for?

It doesn't really matter. Both are good panels.

Worry more about the solar edge stuff.

ABrass is correct. Both are excellent panel brands. Insist that they install atleast 12 panels.

Also, ask them to replace Growatt with a SolarEdge battery.

However, I disagree that SolarEdge is anything but your best bet - their inverters are superior and they actually do honour their warranty. If you have shading and the budget, the only better inverter option are Enphase microinverters.

We had light renewables do our installation. 12 panels with the optimisers. Same panels, same ac dc stuff and the same battery. Price was virtually the same but we didn't have the iboost but had 12 panels vs 10.
Really happy with the equipment, quality, neatness and speed of installation.
If you want 14 panels, ask for 14. It will probably be around £1200 more.
Half the companies we contacted suggested optimisers. Half said not. I'm glad we did for the insurance of future shading as trees do grow..!
You had same battery? How is the performance?
Also in how many days you received your MSE certificate?

I did ask for solaredge battery but he says that growat is pretty good so we got pretty confused.

Also if i get 14 or 16 panels do we need bigger inverter. Right now he said he will put 3.6Kwh?

Can you please share your review about Iboost?
I believe you have it for more than a year now.

    Highly appreciate your help.

SolarEdge is a better company to deal with - I would insist on their battery if I were you. The reasons installers recommend Growatt is higher margin, lower price and higher availability. But you should always chose a brand with good warranty support and seamless integration (with their own inverter).

If you go for 14+ panels, you should get a larger inverter, ideally a 4kWh. But if you go with 12 panels, you can stay with the SolarEdge 3.68 inverter.

If I was installing a hot water diverter, I would only go with MyEnergi's Eddi because it integrates very well with their Zappi EV charger and their app is amazing!

Remember that you are the paying person and you should receive the product you want, you will pay a lot of money for that.
Maximise the number of panels you will install from the start, later will be a lot more expensive to add new ones. Obviously no need to massively oversize the system, do your calculations and try to find a sweet point where the investment is breaking even in a reasonable amount of time. Growatt has a dod of 94.5%, GivEnergy and SolarEdge 100%.
The inverter should be a bit smaller than the panels capacity and yes you will need a bigger one if you go for 14 or more. For 10-12  a 3.6kwh is decent.
Spending on a battery it will make more sense(financially)if the majority of your electricity consumption will be outside the production period, as in my case.
Most likely you will go via g100  export limitation meaning that your inverter will be limited to export 3.68kwh  so you won't make a lot from export.
