Morning All
Wet and blustery this morning again, getting a bit fed up of rain now!
Work was good yesterday, I managed to get a fiddly job out of the way, worth staying late for. Took the books back to the library, will take more out next week, still have one that I haven't finished so that's renewed.
Washing to do when I get home tonight, it'll have to go on the pulley again. I had some rosemary cuttings by the kitchen window so got those potted up and have put them in the greenhouse, also put away the hosepipe for the winter. Builder chap came to take some offcuts of wood I had left out for him, nice to get some little bits of jobs out of the way.
Hope everyone's well, Ruby I agree that you can do without that negativity in your life, glad the other clients are happy.
Take care. XX9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's cold this morning, winter drawers on, as they say. Talking of drawers, I bought some winter leggings at the beginning of this year Gers, and they are so cosy, they are fleece lined but you can still get them on under trousers.DH got a couple of suitcases out of the loft yesterday, ready for our trip to visit his relatives. I'm of the hokey cokey school of packing - I'll take that -in, no I won't wear it, -out, though I might -in.We'll be taking warm things though it'll probably be warmer down there than it is here.Yesterday was an ok day, I had a scheduled phone call from the Geriatric medicine dept (what do they mean Geriatric, I'm only 74!) about my last bone density scan. They tell me that the osteoporosis is no worse, but I'm at high risk of a fracture, so no falling over I'll hear more from them about possible further treatment.Ruby your moany client and her mother don't sound very nice, you can do without their attitudes.TA glad you had a good day yesterday.Snoozer, pleased to read that you're feeling a bit better.Hope your got your water temp sorted out Nels.I've got various jobs lined up for today, so I'll crack into those once I've got myself organised.Hope everyone has a good day, Take care folks.11

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc x
I didn't manage to post yesterday as I was in the office and didn't get a moment's peace! You remember the 'bonuses' from April time? Well apparently, they are quarterly, so another 65 to input yesterday (Apr-Jun quarter) which took me most of the day - this time I was on the list from the start! The next round is starting now. In other 'you couldn't make it up' news I needed to send a hard copy document in the post to someone. Went to the post room where I found a guy sitting in a windowless room just waiting to retire(!) - no envelopes here, you will have to buy one at a shop!!?? Managed to find one in a cupboard of doom on our floor but the glue was so old it wouldn't stick, so back into the room to find tape. I told you you couldn't make it up!
WFH today and the flooring guys have finished the dining room/home office but are still working in the hallway and lounge for the next few days. They have all the lights on plus the front door open! We don't want to move anything back yet, so kitchen table working it is for DH and I! At least we are near the kettle and can keep the door shut. I will do some washing today as it's meant to be dry - we have rain due tomorrow.
DS1 and financee are coming for dinner tonight but not until about 8(!) so I will cook spag bol in the SC and just do the spaghetti when they get here. DH and I will rub down and undercoat the box room woodwork in between work and dinner.
Good that you spotted the issue with your water temp @Nelski - I too read that tip - will get DH to take a look at our boiler.
Good decision on your problematic client @RedRuby1231 - your other clients sound lovely
Hope you enjoyed your Tuesday lunch out @TravellingAbuela - what did you go for on the menu?
Glad to hear you're feeling better @snoozer
Hugs to all the poorlies and those with woes xx
Have a good day

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Either I'm getting acclimatised or it's not quite as chilly this morning. So no heating on today.
I had a lovely meet up with BFF yesterday and it was good to see her looking so well. Her holiday must have done the trick (just a shame she was knocked back with the Covid booster last week) We had much catching up to do and a nice lunch was enjoyed. Nels that's a silly question = it was from the naughty side of the menu!!
Off gallivanting again today. It's our fortnightly bus trip and wine and dine lunch day. Only 2 of us today as the pain in the neck DH of our 3rd friend has gone down with Covid and, although she is testing negative for now, she doesn't want to risk giving it to us. We are thinking Otley for a change as not been in ages. Just a shame they have mucked about with the bus service and it's not as easy getting there now.
So another day of no jobs getting done. Oh well there is always tomorrow! I had a delivery of Sparkle's indoor cat biscuits yesterday and I have just ordered her Hi Life Perfection which usually arrives next day.. I hope this cat realises just how much she costs me in food and vet bills!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. RUBY that moaning woman sounds a pain. You have made the right decision. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all
Overcast here for now but the sun is due out later, yesterday afternoon turned out to be lovely and quire warm, although we lit the log burner last night as it turned colder.
Thanks for all the mentions re moany client, I feel so much better knowing that she wont be back so I have obviously made the right decission ! It upsets me so much when people put other people down due to a disability
Only one chap today as the other is still testing positive, so I am going to take him to Goodwood race track and watch the super car track day, I think he will enjoy it and we can take our picnic with us.
Dinner tonight is a fish finger sandwich not good for my diet but delicious, will do a few chps and a salad to go with it.
Have good days all and keep warm xxx9 -
Morning all. It's very rainy with low grey cloud outside, I can't see the sea at all. Temperatures are still in double figures though barely. Back on with the leggings.Scarlet- my leggings are viscous which are warmer than polyester. When it gets colder I'll roll out the merino wool tights, I'm saving them up. As for 'geriatric' it's a horrible term, here it's called 'medicine for the elderly' which always made my late DM laugh.Camelot - are you packing yet?Coxy - an empty stationery cupboard would give me the heebee-jeebees. 😱Ruby - well done on removing toxicity from your life, it's what we all have to do.TA - enjoy your away day.Nelski - is a new boiler you need or just a new part?Today I'm going to bake a lemon drizzle cake as a present for late DM's crossword friend. It's his birthday tomorrow so I'm going down for lunch with him. Unfortunately I'll have head out into the bad weather for sugar and lemons, my raincoat is ready. Many hugs all round. Happy wet Wednesday to all.8

Morning! I have a day of nothing much planned except for some decluttering. I did a diy job yesterday and spent so much time looking for small tools I'd put somewhere that I got very fed up of not being able to put my hands on something I wanted immediately. And I'll chop some kindling. I'm trying to think of a way to put it in the porch so I don't have to go and get a bag full from the big wheelie bin we usually use to store it in. It's always a bit damp so has to stay in for a few days to lose some moisture. It's almost fire putting on time which is quite early this year. But the grass is still growing so that's due a cut this week too. There are still some tomatoes in the greenhouse, not many so I'd better think of a recipe for them too. Maybe some baked tomatoes with something. Maybe in some mac and cheese...You know it's winter when the pasta comes out in forceRuby, excelllent decision, I have no patience for people who cant say nice things or don't like being happy. TA, enjoy your new old day out....Scarlet, how very dare they! Fleece leggings sound cosy! Coxy, I believe you. Everywhere seems to be being run on less than a shoestring these days. Nels, how nice to finally find a tradesman who comes when they say they will. Snoozer, good to hear you're better. Rosy, I've taken to wearing them on my head at all times, the ones without the separate nose thingies, so they don't drag in my hair. They're quite small as well so I can peer over the top of them. Madbat, I remember night shifts. I am very glad not to be doing them anymore. I feel your sleepy pain. Izzy, what an absolute pain in the rear. Hope they do ane arly ring for you. Gers, happy baking! Look after yourselves all, it's a bit chilly today.

Morning all, dull & grey again but dry , and 10 degrees. I'm off out for a late lunch today with my old neighbour but have a bit of typing for DH once he's done a revised estimate. He'll mainly just be supervising but at least it'll keep DS2 busy for a good while. We had beef stroganoff from the butchers, he does a mix with some peppers in, I added mushrooms and cooked it in my ninjagrill, took about 15 mins and was lovely. Italian meatballs tonight from the pack, I might put that in the SC with being out this afternoon.Coxy , no envelopes in a post room!Scarlet , geriatric - how rude! It seems such an outdated term to me.TA, pets cost more than you think don't they. Ly1as pet insurance has gone up to £50 a month with her being such a big old pooch
and her monthly sack of food is £52, a recent rise of £5. Then there's her apple habit.... , she now gets the cheapest I can get off my veg box man- he sometimes has bags that are a bit bruised.
Right better go and do some stuff before I get ready to go out, hope you all have a good day x

Hi everyone,
I'm still coughing for England but other than that feel ok. Just as well because both Brian and Laura will be in London today. Laura has a posh lunch at the Cafe Royale for a whisky launch (not that she'll drink the whisky).
Plans are fluid because it's raining, hopefully we'll be able to go out at some point. Esben is eating a round of toast after already having a banana, veggie sticks, rice cakes, a slice of brioche and a clementine.
Have a good day.7
