I contacted my MP after I had not heard about my claim for months. He responded quickly and contacted the DWP but he advised me that the minimum wait for them to respond to MPs is 6 weeks.calcotti said:

Despite having proof of pensionable age housing benefit claim since 28 October still no decision.
I'm tearing my hair out !
What else can I do to get a decisionI did hear immediately after that 6 weeks.1 -
Many thanks for all the help. We received a phone call just before Xmas and 2 hours later had a positive claim backdated. Don't give up. Know your rights.2
