Charges

I'm with OVO and when querying my account I was given the cost of my standing and usage but they added a "Consumption" charge to this total?? Is this correct and how it it calculated

I don't know their statement layouts, but consumption usually refers to the energy you have consumed.   i.e. your usage.

  • Thanks for the feedback. My standing charges for the month of September amounted to £11.98 then my unit rate/ kw amount to £26.89 and then £14.92 was added as a Consumption charge. It's this charge I'm querying?
  • Your tariff comprises 3 elements: a daily standing charge; a charge for each unit consumed and VAT.

If your electricity meter has advanced by 100 units then your ‘consumption charge’ would be 100 times the unit price (p/kWh).

is the problem the ovo bill page layout? its not the most streight foward.

you have a summary of your bill at the top then a breakdown of the charges/credits at the bottom. so it can look like they're charging you twice when the bottom is just more detail about how they got the number at the top. but i don't see anything saying 'consumption' on my bill.

i posted this screen shot on a different thread so ignore the bits in red.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
