And I am very grateful that my Team meeting attendees are fully clothed too (as I am sure they are pleased to see I am too!)... and by clothed meaning regular work wear not pony-girl or latex gimp suitGrumpy_chap said:
Do you mean to say that not everyone has the same particularly enthralling Teams meeting at work as I do?DullGreyGuy said:1) Presumably what you do whilst watching pørn is different to what you do whilst on a work Team's meeting... if you have the same dull/glazed over expression you probably want to change what you are watching!
One thing I do is to keep a square of post-it note stuck over the webcam and actually use an external plug in USB webcam when I need to use one. That is because I keep the laptop away from line of sight most of the time (using an external keyboard, monitor, mouse) and I know with the external webcam whether the USB lead is plugged in or not.
Work laptop has a physical slider that covers the webcam so no risk of it being on unnoticed... though it is normally at least 2-3 meetings before new starts work out how to open it.
Personal laptop doesnt have a cover but does have a light to show when its recording and according to Apple its hardwired and so no way possible for the camera to be on without the light... though not sure about the Sun's headline about the "chilling reason" the light/circle appears0 -
I get these all the time, quoting an old password that was part of a leak many years back. The usual "we have access to your webcam", which makes me laugh because I have black electrical tape over the webcam.0

if they are logged in to your pc/laptop they can see through the camera and what is on the screenGrumpy_chap said:
So, out of interest, how would that work?Peter999_2 said:Have they told that they have watched you through your webcam caught you watching adult sites?
If I was watching content (of any kind) on the laptop, my webcam would be looking the other way, so at me. No way of telling whether I am watching adult sites, in a work Teams meeting, or posting on MSE Forum.
The only way I can think of would be if I had a mirror right behind me while at the PC. I doubt that is a common set up.0 -
Add these to your devices. Cheap, and the next time you have one of these emails you can rest a bit easier:

I think it's best to be honest and upfront just in case it's real. Get out in front of it so to speak.
So with that in mind,
I'm sorry for my actions MSE forum members, if you do receive evidence of my shameful behaviour, I hope you will forgive me.
Beating one off in the Savings Forum was in hindsight a mistake.
Those 1 year fixed rates a 4.3% were just to damn exciting.
There, they haven't got one over me now.
Next up, a phonecall admission to my aging parents.1 -
These are ok for desktops as per the image but there have been many reports of cracked laptop screens where these have been stuck on because it creates a fulcrum point so pressure can be applied when the laptop is closed whereas normally the edges of the laptop are flush with the base when closed.pulliptears said:Add these to your devices. I have one on my MacBook Pro at present, there is a lip around my screen so the screen sits lower than the edges. With the cover I have on it still sits below that lip because this one is so thin.DullGreyGuy said:

Depends on the cover and the device design I guess, but worth pointing out.
Even cheaper solution is a square of electrical tape 😂0 -
Does it come across as judgmental?0

Some of the posts on here are quite racy, granted. The sub-section about saving money on public transport... Oh boy! Sometimes I need two cigarettes after reading it...Grumpy_chap said:
