Price increase after paying deposit

After putting down a 10% deposit on a new caravan 12 months ago the manufacturers have increased the price by 20%.
Can they do this?
I think they should honour the original price.

    What does your contract state?

Contracts dont always start instantly, most online shops for example state the contract is only formed when the goods are dispatched which enables them to deal with errors on their websites etc. Contracts can deal with cost changes but would normally come with a balancing clause saying you can cancel for free if costs increase by more than X%

Do you mean they have told you that you will have to pay 20% more? Or just that the price has gone up 20%

If that's what your contract says, then it's what you agreed to.
