Natwest card reader - can we live without it?

Just seen this YouTube video by NatWest on how to do a payment (to a new payee) using mobile app (without using card reader):
https://youtu.be/ftXdJB_0uL4
It says 'limits apply', however, the whole process never showed prompt for biometric approval (blink to approve). The video is from two years ago, so maybe the biometric technology wasn't available then.
As I mentioned in a previous post, when I setup the new payee to my Nationwide account, the limit was showing as £5000. My next test is to try to do a payment out over £5000 for a new payee (I will use my tsb spend and save current account as new payee). Will NatWest payment out process prompt me for biometrics or card reader?
Anyone hazard a guess?
edit: When I attempt this on mobile app. I could see this:Want to change how much you can pay?To keep you safe from fraud we've given you the ability to manage how much can be paid out of your account each day.You can do this in Online Banking by visiting the 'Payments and transfers' area. Alternatively, you can break down the payment into two or more smaller amounts if you're happy with your existing payment limit.
Surely, the two or smaller chunks isn't gonna make the slightest difference as the limit is set per working day ?On the same screen where the above message appeared it did also say:
"Daily limit: £5,000Your daily payment limit runs for 24 hours from 6:30 pm each business day."
So, if I do a £2000 payment at 7 pm on Friday then do another one of £3000 at 9:00 pm the same day (Friday). I won't be able to do another payment until 6:30 pm the next Monday. Is that correct?
Anyway, I think there's some real inconsistencies with Natwest information. If you visit the Natwest website, it says the limit is £1000:

Btw, as a test, I did try to change the limits for online banking, mobile banking, and open banking from within online banking . First tried changing mobile banking from £5000 to £5010. Was Prompted to use app to approve. Yep, biometric prompt to use face recognition. No sign of need for card reader. Didn't bother going ahead with the increase for mobile banking (or the rest) as £5000 is okay.0
