Live 8 - selling "chances" in a "draw"...

I see that some sellers are selling "chances to be entered in a Draw" with Live 8 tickets as the prize. They're offering 100's of these imaginary draw tickets.
A few of these sellers state that they will give all profits to charity - oh yes...
Quite apart from the possibility that this is a scam, (ie. the tickets don't exist) is this actually allowed on eBay?
- does it come under "information" or something?
- where does one report them to ebay?
And if it is allowed are eBay going to be able to contribute their "profits" to the Live 8 cause as they've indicated?

- No, they say they have a pair of tickets and are auctioning the "opportunity" to take place in their own draw...
- maybe that's against the "lottery act" or something? (don't you have to be registered?)0 -
again it boils down to the fact that some buyers on ebay are extremely stupid, so rogue sellers use this to their advantage. If you're daft enough to pay for a link to a question that has been on every media in the whole country then I have very little sympathy.
If the auction is in your eyes clearly misleading then please post the auction number in this forum, and I'm sure that most users here will report the auction.0 -
My friend got a text the other day to say she has won tickets to this concert!!! she is chuffed!!

Yeah,
I saw that on the morning news. I suppose it's a good thing but what about genuine people who can't make it, I realise this has been discussed in the other thread but there will be some genuine cases of selling them. However, I guess they could sell to friends!Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0 -
Ebay have backed down and withdrawing these live8 tickets
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0
