Hate my Job!

Options
Was off work for few weeks and just come back and done a week. I dont like the person I support. They nice but direct and I feel like I'm always doing something wrong and I am constantly busy and get work piled on and then they expect me to manage. I am good at my job but I have started to hate it. Do you think I should speak to the director and see if they can switch things up? Only thing is I'm looking internally but haven't found anything and I am now getting frustrated to the point I feel like quitting. I know they are looking at the team structure so should I mention  this to the Director? How do I put this without looking like I'm incompetent. Any advice appreciated?

Clarify the person you support and your job role. Are they higher than you in the management structure? Where does the director fit into this?
What were you off work for for a few weeks?

Yes they are. Director heads up the team who has authority to make changes. The person I support reports into the D. But its the person I support thats I no longer want to work for.

Your thread title is 'Hate my Job'. You say you've been off work due to 'stress'. Are you sure just changing your reporting line/the person you support is going to cure everything? Sometimes it can, other times you are just shooting yourself in the foot in terms of future promotion/job security.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

I have no idea what 'switch things up' means.  If you expect to speak to your boss's boss and for everything then to be great, I think you are in for a massive disappointment.  You need to speak to your boss and explain what the problem areas are.  Just because you don't want to work for them, doesn't automatically mean that you don't have to.

Do you have supervisions/appraisals and who is responsible for these? How is your performance being assessed in these?
Did you not have a return-to-work interview following being off sick where your workload concerns could be raised?
There's a bit of discrepancy between you saying you are good at your job but the person you report to appearing to have some concerns if they make you feel as if you are doing it wrong. Have you spoken to them about the workload -has it changed at all, is it still in line with your job description?
I think you need to distinguish between the person you are working for and the demands of the role. Because if it's the demands of the job that are hard then that is going to be the same whoever you are supporting.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Instead of looking internally, look externally.  As far as that organisation will be concerned you have just taken time off due to stress  (presumably work related) and after being back a week you want to change things because you feel the person you work for is "nice but too direct".  They are really not going to go out or their way to put things how you want them. Unless you have some sort of really unusual skill set they would find hard to replace you have much more chance of getting a job you like elsewhere.

You do realise this is the same poster as the one who has had an interview for another internal post
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

When they get offered it, get back to me.  It could happen, of course.  It could be an organisation where departments don't speak to one another.
