When should I test?

I have been in the company of people who have tested positive for covid. When would be the best time to do my first test? If it's negative, do I continue to test daily and how long for? I really don't want to pass it onto the rest of my household who are having their boosters this week.

You can be infectious before you have symptoms or test positive, so I would use a test as reassurance for when to relax taking precautions against passing it on, rather than whether you need to start being careful. So perhaps test at 5-7 days after exposure?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

If you really want to avoid passing it on to household members, then you need to stay apart from them for a week. You are most likely infectious a day or two before you test positive yourself, so will have had the opportunity to pass it on before you know you have it. Most likely time to catch it is 2-5 days after contact.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards.
