Smart heating - where to start and how to convert gradually?
I've just installed a Drayton Wiser system - I chose it because it's one of the easier ones to wire in, and has cheap-ish (£50) radiator valves. In your scenario, they've also got plug-in repeater plugs to extend the range over a mesh network.
Smart home tech has been a mess for years with multiple standards incompatible with each other and devices being deprecated and made useless all over the place as those standards come and go.
Just recently a new standard called Matter has been launched which has most of the big players on board to hopefully solve these issues going forwards.
Any solution you look at going forwards I would suggest should be Matter certified or at least support it.
