Energy price cap

Hello, I’ve just received my latest energy bill from @octopusenergy and have found that from the 1st October they have charged me 50p/KWh for electricity and 14p/KWh for gas. This is way above the energy price cap unit rates set by the government of 34p and 10.3 p respectively. Obviously I have queried this and I’m waiting for a response, but has this happened to anyone else?

This thread would be better in "Energy" rather than polls.
On the face of it this seems unlikely; Octopus have been fairly efficient at revising their tariffs and no-one else has reported a similar problem.joburton4321 said:Hello, I’ve just received my latest energy bill from @octopusenergy and have found that from the 1st October they have charged me 50p/KWh for electricity and 14p/KWh for gas.Can you post a photo or screenshot of your bill showing the calculation of what's owed? A bit like this:
What are the prices per kWh that they've used in those calculations?

he billed amount just shows my usage against these tariffs exactly as you have shown above. 50.63p for electricity and 14.02p for gas. Obviously my bill will be higher than £2500 for a years energy as my usage is higher than ‘average’. Octopus have now responded to my post on their FB site and they are looking in to it1

That sounds promising. Do let us know how it turns out.joburton4321 said:Octopus have now responded to my post on their FB site and they are looking in to it
