Hi, does anyone know how the energy discount for traditional prepayment meters works? I haven’t got a reply I understand from my supplier.  The key I use to top up the meter only takes £49 at a time and the voucher is for £66.  So how will it work?

The key should take £250 of credit, but you can only add £49 at a time. The £66 vouchers will need you to top up your key twice, for eg. £40 then £26.

  • I believe that in the case of these non smart prepayment they will be sending out cheques, not vouchers.  Suggest you ring your provider and ask?

No, they will be issuing vouchers, if for some reason they fail to get the vouchers issued they can use cheques or direct bank payments in exceptional circumstances, but they must make attempts to issue the vouchers first...
