Opening a new Starling Bank account (after having switched out)

Hello,
I switched out from Starling 12 months ago (as it was the only account I had spare for a switching bonus - didn't realise I would be unable to open a new account for 12 months).
Has anyone opened a new account with Starling after the 12 months had passed? According to the Starling website they suggest contacting them before applying for a new account?
How did you apply? Just in the app or did you contact Starling first?
Interested in hearing about your experiences.
Thank you for your replies

I would hazard a guess that the phone call is required first, if you intend to use same phone number and/or email address as used on your original account, if Monzo processes are anything to go by.
Not saying Starling are the same as I have no personal knowledge, having kept both my Monzo and Starling accounts since 2017.1 -
I didn’t have an issue when I rejoined Starling, just applied again though the app. Although it was well over 12 months after I switched it out when I re applied.1

Just give them a call.1

Easy to find out whether you can apply again now. Just try it.1
