YBS rates going up

Just had email from YBS, most rates are going up by 0.30% from 5th Oct.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

  • Yes and YBS are normally pretty good in terms of increasing rates on long held existing accounts too!

    I think the 2.5% six access is going up but not the 5% regular saver.

    As the 5th was two days ago, I would expect the YBS to stay at the 2.50% it currently displays in the app tbf.

    Was there any attachment or link in the email?

    You are certainly right about the 5% regular saver not going up (yet; it’s variable so it may do so in the future if other interest rates continue to rise). 5% is still close to the top of all available regular savings rates so the YBS loyalty regular saver remains very competitive at the current rate at the moment.

    Interesting. Thank you.

    Two of my accounts are on there.

    No email yet for me 🤷‍♂️

    Also shows I misread their earlier emails around tiered rates. Could have sworn they were higher for lower balances to aid the smaller saver.

    I have so many accounts though, it could have been an email from a different provider 🤦‍♂️🤣

    Edit

    Nope. It was YBS.

    "Our new tiers will enable us to pay different rates of interest on balances in each tier;
    • The first tier will be for balances up to and including £20,000; and
    • The second tier will start at £20,000.01
    Changing how we apply interest rates means we can increase rates on lower balances, enabling us to help more members.

    Changes will take place from 20 November 2022"
