Tesco Credit Card Clubcard Points

Am I correct in that If I spend £7.99 or less not in a Tesco store with my Tesco Credit Card I won't receive any points so I would be just as well accepting the new NewDay Pulse credit card to replace my Amazon credit card and getting .25p per £?

Tesco card is a bit pants for rewards for the reason you have stated.  I only use mine as my clubcard for 1 point per £ in Tesco petrol stations and pay with a different card.

That's correct for the current offering of Tesco Credit Cards. Some withdrawn ones, like the Premium Card, have better rates.

1 Tesco Clubcard point is worth ~2.5p to me, so based on that your effective rate on non-Tesco spend is a maximum of 0.3125%, but likely to be far lower especially with lower spends. I would take 0.25% straight forward cashback over that, if those were literally the only two options.
  • I'm new to the Tesco Credit Card and notice that, on the receipts so far, I am still only getting 1 point per pound spend in Tesco regardless of value. Am I right in assuming, therefore, that the extra point for every £4 spend is calculated separately and added later to the monthly statement ( I haven't had my first statement yet)?

    Won't show on your receipt.

Check your Clubcard account online, you'll see a few days after your Tesco shops you will have a separate 'TB CREDIT CARD TESCO SPEND' transaction:

(This is from a legacy Premium credit card, so the points are easier for me to 'match up'.)

They'll also show in your 'total points' on future receipts after a few days.
