  • Completely useless response from them it seems.

If you end up with the ombudsman, pretty much what they do is review evidence from both you and the supplier and make a decision.  They don't do investigations and such.  It might be worth starting to think about what evidence you have (or can get) or how you would get more (FoI request to the supplier perhaps).

I am aware of previous cases where the ombudsman decided that someone had been prevented from switching and they were put on the cheapest tariff possible at the time of their original switch request, backdated.  Obviously, this needed good evidence that the switch request had been made and refused etc..

I wouldn't panic about it now, you might still get satisfaction from the supplier, but it's always something to keep in mind as the process becomes more 'formal'.
  • Thanks for the advice....duly noted and appreciated

I didnt know whether to laugh or cry this morning when the woman said "smart meters are not available in your postcde". Yes I know that....its because we are stuck on old meters and obsolete tariffs
  • ANOTHER UPDATE

Needless to say no progress made via any telephone number, so formal complaint letter has been emailed

Laughably, the telephone number listed on their website for complaints just rings three or four time then cuts you off!
