  • Hi, I've phoned the Letting Agents and they've told me I've passed the referencing through Homelet. The strange thing is I can't see any record of them searching my credit files (I have online access to Experian and Equifax). I know Homelet contacted my LL and Employer to they've done that bit ... How can I have been fully checked without them credit checking me ...

there are different levels of checks - some landlords dont pay to have them all done - its a personal choice for each landlord. for me the most important check is with the previous landlord, and i do that myself, and with employers, and i do that myself also. i then ust pay for the credit check.

    Thanks Clutton ...

I just thought it was strange as the Letting Agents did tell me that I would be credit checked but unless they check CallCredit (who I don't subscribe to) then I can't see any evidence of it.

i think we tend to use the phrase "credit check" as a generic term to verify all the information in a tenancy application form.
