Longest Flight delay?

I've just returned from Sri Lanka and it's taken me 38 hours (from original flight time) reaching Heathrow i.e. 3 times the direct flight time! I flew with Royal Jordanian and the flight from Colombo was delayed by eleven hours. We arrived in Amman late in the evening and were put up in a 'flea pit' until we could get a flight the next day! To their credit the Airline did try and get us on a direct Air Lanka flight, but they were fully booked!
Come on, someone must have had a worst delay? Cheer me up on a cold dull day!

I had a 48hr delay from Botswana - as fully loaded long haul 747's are so heavy they only have a small window to take off from the short runway (early evening the hot runway helps lift the plane into the cool air - That's what we were told N E way)
Technical problems in the first instance and a security alert on the second. to top it I was behind a group who chain smoked strong French cigarettes for the 12 hr flight AND THEN ...
We had to land in Zaire for some reason and were boarded with AK47 wielding "government troops" who looked more like extras from an ER Sudan Episode or a bunch of baddies form 24!
Hope THAT makes YOU HAPPY!0 -
Had a thirty hour delay coming back from Nepal with Gulf Air once. The incoming flight hit a flock of birds on landing and a new engine had to be flown from the Gulf. When we finally reached Dubai, Gulf Air had to find new onward flights for us all and then we had to make an unscheduled landing at Bahrain because the air crew had been working longer than their designated hours so we needed to pick up a new crew. Miserable.0

26 hours with XL from LGW to Tobago - some poor excuse given:j0

4 days - parents stuck in Northern Cyprus due to technical problems with the aircraft. Due to Northern Cyprus' status finding another airline to supply a plane isn't easy and it's down to a Turkish one to do the job.0
