Parking from Agents

I booked parking (Manchester Valet) via Trinqoo Agent. Upon arrival to the airport and following instructions to call MV I was told by MV they dont deal with TQ, there is no car park for me and an individual put the phone down. I was left with £500 short stay car park fee. Who can reimburse me for it? MV doesn't exist, TQ doesn't want to help claiming T and C, lawyer doesn't want to help using TQ T and Cs. And in the end the service didnt exist.

    "MV doesn't exist."

But they answered the phone?  Are they a scam company do you think?

Could you not have parked in the long stay? At Gatwick you can do that on the day, just costs a little more than advance booking.

All you could do (outside of filing a small claim) is get back the money you paid to TQ by disputing it with your payment card provider, because they failed to provide the service. Consumer Rights Act 2015 breach and probably a breach of the CPUTRS 2008 as well (misleading action).

You COULD (probably, as I doubt the t&cs cover them) sue TQ for causing this loss and don't need a solicitor to file a small claim.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Unfortunately, it was half term, so all car parks were booked, and we had only 2h to departure. TQ refunded booking fee of £37 which is small amount to what we have paid. MV however, looks like a scam company.
