Bulb and Electricity Meters
Hi, just had a strange email from Bulb... normally they email to say they are in the area and want to install a smart meter.. have held off currently getting one installed due to the issues I keep reading about - plus am on Economy 7 and dont want to mess that up. However they have now emailed me saying "ITS TIME TO REPLCE YOUR METER - Our records show that your electricity meter has come to the end of its working life so we need to replace it"
My current meter is a standard analogue Night meter and Day meter.... has anyone come across these coming to the end of their working life or is this just a ploy to get me to switch to a smart meter? I would of thought an anolgue meter would last alot longer than the SMART meters (I believe they are currently on their 2nd version SMET2 already...)
House is only about 15 years old...
I have no problems reading and submitting the readings once a week... no hassle at all...
Anyway I dont like to be pressured on changing something when ther eis no requirement to do so..

Yes, meters do have a life expectancy, and if the same one has been at the house since it was built then I'd imagine that yours potentially would be considered to be time-expired now.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
